Wise Owl Messingham Daily Routine

Each day the children at Wise Owl have a structured routine, which helps children to gage time passing so they know when to expect Mummy or Daddy to come and collect them. It also helps prepare them for school as your child will be used to follow an organised daily routine there.

Time Activity
7.30am Children start to arrive at nursery and are signed in. There will be a range of activities floor and table top set out for the children to explore and play. The children are free to choose which activities they would like to play with. 
8:00-9:00am Children are able to choose from a variety of breakfast and have milk or water available to drink.
9.00-10:00am Free flow- the children can choose from a range of areas and activities that they wish to explore both inside and out. The child can also take part in adult lead activities which are planned using the childrens next steps and link to the EYFS.
10:00-10:30am Cafe style snack- a variety of snack is on offer and the children are able to join in at anytime. the children are encouraged to wash their hands before and after snack and empty their plates and cups ready for washing.
10.30 – 11.40am free flow time- children can explore all activities both indoor and outdoors including the planned activities set out and led by practitioners.
11.40 – 12.00am Tidy away time- the children are all encouraged to help one another tidy away ready for dinner. the children the sit down in a circle and do a group activity e.g. story sack, discussion time or song time.
12.00 – 12.30pm LUNCH TIME- Children are provided with a two course home made food and a choice of drink. the children are encouraged to wash their hands before and after food and take away their plates for washing and to wash their faces after meals. this promotes independence.
   
13:00PM MORNING SESSION ENDS
1:00-2:00PM Children that require sleep will be encouraged to have a nap. Other children will have free flow play both inside and outside. The children can also choose to take part in a planned adult led activity to further learning and development.
2.00-2:30pm Cafe style snack- a variety of snack is on offer and the children are able to join in at anytime. the children are encouraged to wash their hand before and after snack and empty their plates and cups ready for washing.
2.30-3:40pm free flow time- children can explore all activities both indoor and outdoors including the planned activities set out and led by practitioners to further learning and development
3:40 – 4.00pm Children are encouraged to tidy away and take part in story time. The children are then encouraged to wash their hands ready for tea. 
4:00-4:30 TEA TIME:  The children are encouraged to sit nicely at the table, take their plate away and wash their hands and faces when they have finished. This promotes independence.
4.30 – 5.45pm Free flow play the children can choose different areas and activities that they wish to explore.
5.45 -6.00pm Tidy up time and stories.
6.00pm Nursery close.
