Welcome to Wise Owl
We are a friendly private nursery in Scunthorpe which provides quality day care in an intimate, home-from-home environment for children from birth to seven years.

The nursery is open from 7:30am-6pm, Monday-Friday (except for Bank Holidays). Our excellent facilities allow us to cater for 35 children:

• 15 children aged 2-3 years old (our Snowy, Tawny and Barn owls) on the ground floor;
• 9 babies aged 0-2 (our Chestnut Owlets, Spotted Owlets) in the executive suite on the first floor; and
• 11 children aged 2-5 years old (our Wise owls) on the second floor.

These groupings mean that children benefit from having access to toys and facilities that best suit their age group, which aids their learning and development. All children are allocated a key person. These smaller group sizes ensure a close relationship between your child and his or her key person. Indeed, at Wise Owl each child is allowed to settle in their own time and only then is their key person allocated based on the staff member with whom they have bonded particularly well.

Your Window On The Wise Owl World
For extra peace of mind, if you have access to the Internet, you can watch your child at play on our secure, constantly streaming webcams, which cover the babies' suite and all the rooms downstairs. Wise Owl is the only nursery in North Lincolnshire to offer this service.

Home from Home
At Wise Owl, we also have a safe and enclosed garden where your child
not only will get plenty of fresh air and exercise, but also learn about the
natural world. Wise Owl works on a free flow basis, which means all children
are given open access to the garden facilities at all times. Children on the second
floor simply have to ask a member of staff to go outside and they will escort the child down to the garden.

Quality of Setting

The Wise Owl team are always seeking opportunities to improve our knowledge of childcare and the environmental factors affecting the industry with the aim of improving the service we provide for you and your child. As part of this commitment the whole team went to the Nursery World Show in London to speak to experts and suppliers from the childcare industry. This allowed us to tap fresh ideas and be inspired in every area of early years practice. Read more about what we did at this year's Nursery World Show.

Outings
Wise Owl Nursery regularly arranges outings in and around North Lincolnshire for example to Normanby Hall, local museums, nature reserves, Scunthorpe Fire Station etc.

Our outings are usually scheduled twice a month for both the 0-2 and 2-5 year groups and we believe our nursery is the only one in the area to offer such exciting and diverse learning opportunities for our children.

Outings are planned to try and give all children an opportunity to attend but if a child is unable to be present when an outing is planned for them they are welcome to come along on another outing but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Help us, help our children

Please help us collect Tesco for Schools vouchers; the more we collect the more educational toys and equiptment we can get for our children! We also get 20 vouchers for every mobile phone and empty inkjet cartridge that we send for recycling. Please speak to one of our nursery staff for more information.
